Hi Elizabeth,

Cuernavaca is a great place to live. We've only been here a few weeks, but so far so good! :-) We have friends who have been here longer, of course.

We haven't seen any street violence, and the police seem to be quite helpful. The people have treated us very well - we've made a few friends already and are looking forward to making more! They've been very helpful, especially considering we're new and need lots of help and advice.

Of course, as with any city there are basic precautions you should take. But if your daughter and her friend are wise, take those precautions and are friendly and gracious to the people around them, I'm sure they'll have a great time! :)

I appreciate your blog and I am delighted by the sweet voices of Hannah and Nathanael. My daughter and her friend left North Carolina today for a semester in Cuernavaca.

I am excited for them but, of course, concerned for their safety. Do you hear of or see much street violence in Cuernavaca? How have you been treated by the natives?

Best to you,
Elizabeth
