Maybe I shouldn’t have, but I decided to calculate just how much this little delay in our trip has cost us. Yeah, that’s about right.
No, there’s no cards or roulette wheels involved here – just van repairs, extra hotel stays, a tow truck, and so on.
If you’ve ever watched White Christmas (it’s July – what better time to mention White Christmas?), you’ll remember Bing Crosby’s character getting a financial quote on the phone. "Wow." says Crosby, upon hearing the quote.
Kaye wants to know,"How much is WOW?"
"It’s right between ouch and boioioing."
"Wow." answers Kaye.
Yeah, so financially I’m right between ouch and boioioing right now.
Well, I’m afraid these things do happen. This one certainly happened. But the van is repaired, and seems to be running fine (I took it for a good run this evening), and it looks like we’ll be on the road first thing in the morning.
So – here we go for our second try driving across Nevada!
