Chronological Bible Study: Grand Finale Tonight!
Tonight is the grand finale of the Chronological Bible Study – week 15. It’s been a great 15 weeks! And now we have a set of material that we can use again.
This week’s theme is The Triumph of the Lamb, based around Revelation 5. Also, we’re going to do a whirlwind tour of the last 15 weeks, and take a look at the themes (or – theme!) that run throughout Scripture.
We would appreciate your prayers as we close this study. Pray that each person would continue to learn about the Gospel and God’s Word.
Jesus said…
because you think that in them
you have eternal life;
and it is they that bear witness about me,
yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.
(John 5:39-40)
Here’s a brief video I came across recently that touches on many of the topics we talked about in our study…
Next Week: The Chronological Bible Study
Right at the moment I’m in a meeting to talk about the Chronological Bible Study, which will Lord willing be beginning next week. (No, I’m not typing in the meeting – this is a post-dated post. Now you know my secret!)
This will be a first-run of a 15 week study designed for Mexico’s urban context. Being a first-run, I’m sure there will be a lot of changes and adjustments made!
As I’ll be telling the teachers, our overall goal is to help people see the world in the light of the Scriptures (2 Corinthians 10:4-6) and to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ (repentance and the forgiveness of sins) (Luke 24:44-48).
Please pray for the five of us that will be involved in leading this study, and for those who will be taking it (we hope everyone in the church will take it at one point or another). We would also appreciate your prayers as we continue to evaluate the study – I’ll need a lot of help from my Mexican friends for that, who know the subtleties of the language and culture.
Our friend Samuel created the poster below (on very short notice!) to remind people about the study. I think it’s brilliant.
Do you think it would be all right if I got Samuel to take a billion or two years in Heaven to teach me graphic design? Or will we all just be getting better at what we’re already good at? That’s something I would love to learn, but he has more talent in his baby finger than I’ll probably have in my whole glorified body. Just a little speculative question for you there…
Top left is our church logo. At the top it says Chronological Bible Study, and below it says the world in the light of the Scriptures.
