DOCTRINE:
Let it GROW

There are two things that you need to make a number one priority:
¤ Know the TRUTH ¤

Wouldn't a lot of our problems be solved if we simply studied the Scriptures and didn't rely so much on our own ideas?  Paul knew the value and power of the Word of God:

"Be careful to show yourself approved by God . . . correctly handling the Word of Truth" (2:15)
"All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." (3:16-17)

The Bible is our source of truth - hang on to it and search through it and learn it.  That's where it all begins.  Secondly,

¤ Live the TRUTH ¤

Once the truth is planted in your heart, allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life and change you.  Let the true doctrine of Jesus Christ make you less selfish and more loving; less lazy and more passionate; less grumpy and more thankful.

"Hold fast to the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus." (1:13)
"...continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of..." (3:14)

Know and live the truth.  Once you've started to let God change you, you have something that is of great value and you're ready for the next step . . .
