What if churches did their job reaching their own communities? What if every Christian told their friends about the Lord? Then we wouldn't need all these missionaries, right? Well, not exactly. But it would be wonderful if everyone was reaching out like that, wouldn't it? Part of the problem is that there are many groups of people who have no church that's relevant to them in their culture. They don't have any friends who know Christ, or even friends who have friends who know Christ! In other words, for millions of people on earth today, there is little or no chance that they will ever hear the Gospel unless someone from outside their culture comes in and learns to share the truth in a clear way. It is extremely important for people to reach their own culture with the Gospel. But often the job is too great, or there simply are not any Christians in the culture. It is the responsibility of the Christians on earth today to reach the unbelievers who are on earth today. It's still true that millions are dying without the Lord. As individuals, families, and churches, let's reach those around us. But let's also make sure that we reach those in other cultures, here and around the world. As Paul said,"How will they hear without a preacher?" Some verses to consider: Matthew 28:18-20 Luke 24:46-48 Acts 1:6-8 Romans 10:11-14 Revelation 5:9-10 -> Return to F.A.Q.
