As you may have noticed, our blog has a new name.<\/p>\n

I would like to say that it’s a deep reflection of the angst of Generation X, a probing honest searchlight into our souls.  But in actual fact, the old name was just way too long and clunky, and had no character whatsoever.<\/p>\n\n\n

Besides, most people have catchy names for their blogs nowadays.  Perhaps way back in October 2002, when this blog was started, there were a lot more had brilliant names like,”My blog”.  But now even missionaries have cool names for their blogs, like Voice In The Desert<\/a>, Vessel of Mercy<\/a> or Knightly News Update<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This is not to say the new name has no meaning.  Obviously, it fits in with our website theme.  It’s not “finding directions<\/b>“, which sounds like somebody stopping at the gas station to pour over maps with the attendant.  Why would anyone want to stop to ask for directions anyway?<\/p>\n

No, we’re thinking more about life directions here.  God leads in many different ways, and at times it seems to be in many different directions.  But in the end, the ministry takes one direction – make disciples<\/i>.  And in the end, our lives must take one direction – to become more like Jesus<\/i>.  And when all is said and done, our eyes must be on the Author and Finisher of our Faith<\/i>.  It reminds me of the song by Rich Mullins:<\/p>\n

Save me from those things
That might distract me
Please take them away and purify my heart
I don’t want to lose the eternal for
The things that are passing
‘Cause what will I have when the world is gone
If it isn’t for the love that goes on and on<\/p>\n

Who have I in Heaven but You Jesus
And what better could I hope
To find down here on earth
I could cross the most distant reaches
Of this world, but I’d just be wasting my time
‘Cause I’m certain already, I’m sure
I’d find You’re my one thing<\/i><\/center>

So whatever directions God takes us, it will still be the same direction.  But we need His help to find it.<\/p>\n

Lord, purify our hearts.  And when we’re finding direction, may we always find it leads to You.<\/p>\n
