When I stood up in our home church this past Sunday to share, I felt a little – out of breath.<\/b>  I felt a little odd saying what I did to start – it sounded maybe a little immature, or like a bad cliché.<\/p>\n

I was talking about the series of “minor disasters” that we’ve been dealing with as a family, and how it almost seemed like they were all designed to keep me from sharing that morning.  You see?  It sounds a little – arrogant, maybe, to think that I would be so much more special than any other speaker.<\/p>\n

Of course, I’m not more special.  Still, surely sharing about God’s work in Mexico is important.  What we’re trying to do – build a team that can be a part of our ministry – is a powerful and important goal.  But that’s not the reason I said what I did.<\/p>\n

Let’s face it, sometimes you just need to tell someone about what’s been going on behind closed doors.  Nathanael had been sick, I had been sick.  Just before the service, the laptop wouldn’t work, and in the end I had no photo presentation (which was fine – but just another minor problem).  I was tired, and every time I tried to prepare something happened.  On the way to church, we had to avoid a slow moving train.  Ok, I won’t bore you with the whole list!<\/p>\n\n\n

As you can see, if you read my last post – the minor disasters seem to continue.  A problem with the website.  A problem with my back.  Minor compared to the problems of many people, but minor problems in a stack can keep you from major appointments.  Tomorrow we leave for another weekend of ministry.  We’re looking forward to it, but once again I feel – out of breath!<\/p>\n

In the end, I told our friends at our church that this is just a reminder of how important your prayers are.  We need them when we feel trampled on, as we have been feeling.  God hears your prayers and does His work – what an honour to be a part of it!<\/p>\n
