The CAM Katrina site has been updated again<\/b>, with information about what’s been happening and plans for October.  Included in the work that is being done:<\/p>\n

We are now working with teams in tearing out wet and moldy sheetrock, moving damaged furniture out of houses. These teams have also been involved in cutting and removing trees from roofs, and yards. To date we have assisted 29 homes to date in this area of need.<\/i><\/p>\n

A number of churches and schools have been involved in showing God’s love by helping in practical ways.  There are signs of hope in the New Orleans area, as volunteers come and camp out wherever they can, and businesses begin to reopen.  But some houses are still too damaged to use, and there is still so much debris lying around that your tires will probably have a short life if you go for a drive.<\/p>\n

In related news, CAM has a Hurricane Stan relief site<\/a> now, as we try to help out in another area where we’ve been involved.<\/p>\n

Yes, CAM does have missionaries in Nicaragua.  Hurricane Beta is hitting the coast as I write.<\/p>\n

As I mentioned before, we don’t have missionaries in Mexico where Wilma was, but you can pray for the Southern Baptists, among others, who have been trying to help.  Read more about what’s being done in Mexico.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
