Actually, this was a fiesta put on by our church (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.firstfreecalgary.com\/\">Calgary&#8217;s First Evangelical Free Church<\/a>) missions committee, at the end of a month-long fundraiser that they surprised us with.<\/p>\n<p>I can&#8217;t say enough what an encouragement our church has been to us through it all.  When we first came to the church we were missionaries with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vti.ca\">VTI<\/a>, and they&#8217;ve been a support and encouragement through our transition into ministry with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.caminternational.org\">CAM International<\/a>.  Thanks to everyone who came out!<\/p>\n<p><strong>It was a music and dessert night<\/strong>, so we enjoyed a lot of the talent from our church, from piano music to sign language to vocals to fiddle music.  It really was a night we&#8217;ll remember as we face challenges in our new home in Mexico.  I shared <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/bible?language=english&#038;version=NKJV&#038;passage=1corinthians+15:57-58\">1Co 15:57-58 <\/a>, a familiar passage but a great promise of God which is always good to remember.  Our service to the Lord really is worth something &#8211; not because of us, but because of His power.  It&#8217;s always been an encouragement to me to be surrounded by people at our church who are willing to let God work through them.<br \/>\n<center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"296\" height=\"175\" border=\"0\" alt=\"First Free Fiesta\" src=\"\/images\/firstfree-group.jpg\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last night we were at a Mexican fiesta.
