{"id":4428,"date":"2013-01-19T19:11:34","date_gmt":"2013-01-20T01:11:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cottrillcompass.com\/blog\/?p=4428"},"modified":"2013-01-19T19:12:33","modified_gmt":"2013-01-20T01:12:33","slug":"action-in-jesus-maria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cottrillcompass.com\/blog\/2013\/action-in-jesus-maria.html","title":{"rendered":"ACTION in Jes\u00c3\u00bas Mar\u00c3\u00ada!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, <b><i>ACTION<\/i><\/b>! &nbsp;As the date rolls closer when we need to pay for the land in Jes\u00c3\u00bas Mar\u00c3\u00ada, the church has MOBILIZED and is working hard to get the needed funds!<\/p>\n<p>Of course there is some money saved from free will offerings. &nbsp;But for many weeks people have been selling food to earn money for the land and building.<\/p>\n<p><b>But when the contract was finally signed, everything went into high  gear!<\/b> &nbsp;A garage sale began, selling used items to the community (which helps them and helps us!). &nbsp;The sale has continued off and on for the last couple of weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Then some people from the church started the buy-in-bulk and sell-retail system, buying some tidbits downtown and adding them to the sale.<\/p>\n<p>And, yes, there&#8217;s more going on! &nbsp;Today the youth of the church were all wet &#8211; washing cars and vans (including our van, which very much needed the cleaning!).<\/p>\n<p>They also made up some desserts (such as the ever-popular flan and rice pudding) to sell next to the pizza cart owned by a family of believers in Jes\u00c3\u00bas Mar\u00c3\u00ada (<a href=\"http:\/\/avoidanceoftheperfunctory.blogspot.com\/2013\/01\/great-first-week.html\">see the sales in action here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>There have also been other food sales at the house the church rents in the community. &nbsp;This from <a href=\"http:\/\/ixtapalucafryed.blogspot.com\/2013\/01\/property-project-encouragement.html\">Rod&#8217;s blog<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Last night the little house that we rent was converted into a restaurant.&nbsp; I have no idea how many quesadillas, bombazos and banderillas were sold last night&#8230;what I do know is that there were so many people there, we had to wait probably 20 minutes for our order to be ready!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It&#8217;s pretty exciting to see the community of believers coming together to serve the community and raise funds at the same time!<\/p>\n<p>Thanks too to so many in the United States and Canada who have joined the believers here in this project! &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cottrillcompass.com\/blog\/how-to-donate-to-the-ministry\/ixtapaluca-project\">See how things are going so far on this page.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><i><b>Praise the Lord!<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, ACTION! &nbsp;As the date rolls closer when we need to pay for the land in Jes\u00c3\u00bas Mar\u00c3\u00ada, the church has MOBILIZED and is working hard to get the needed funds!
