{"id":518,"date":"2007-01-25T15:00:42","date_gmt":"2007-01-25T21:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cottrillcompass.com\/blog\/2007\/peacemaker-conference-in-puebla.html"},"modified":"2007-02-11T08:01:15","modified_gmt":"2007-02-11T14:01:15","slug":"peacemaker-conference-in-puebla","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cottrillcompass.com\/blog\/2007\/peacemaker-conference-in-puebla.html","title":{"rendered":"Peacemaker Conference in Puebla"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This afternoon, Lord willing, we&#8217;ll be heading to the city of Puebla for a conference <a href=\"http:\/\/www.peacemaker.net\" target=\"_new\" atomicselection=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 5px 0px 5px 10px\" height=\"139\" alt=\"Peacemaker Ministries\" src=\"https:\/\/cottrillcompass.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/01\/windowslivewriterpeacemakerconferenceinpuebla-5d5cpeacemaker5.gif\" width=\"113\" align=\"right\"><\/a>on biblical peacemaking.&nbsp;&nbsp; The material comes from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.peacemaker.net\" target=\"_blank\">Peacemaker Ministries<\/a>.&nbsp; The conference is part of an initiative to train all our mission&#8217;s workers to learn more skills for dealing with conflict.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Peacemaker Ministries was started by attorney Ken Sande<\/strong>, who grew frustrated with the lack of conflict resolution among believers.&nbsp; After all, once anyone reached his office they were not interested in reconciliation but just &#8220;winning&#8221;.&nbsp; I discovered Sande&#8217;s book &#8220;The Peacemaker&#8221; a number of years ago, and gained permission from the organization to use some of their material to train our teams at <a href=\"http:\/\/vti.ca\/\">vti<\/a>.&nbsp; It was an excellent way to help people understand the biblical basics.<\/p>\n<p>Today they have material for children, churches, short term teams and more.&nbsp; But I would highly recommend that you add their main book to your library.&nbsp; So many people pray for peace on earth &#8211; God has given us many tools to bring peace to our own circles of life, if we would only listen.&nbsp; It&#8217;s hard to do sometimes, but if we don&#8217;t even know what God says about it, we&#8217;re not even out of the gate!<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0801064856?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=jcotsweb-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=0801064856\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/images\/the-peacemaker.jpg\"><\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=jcotsweb-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=0801064856\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\"><\/center><\/p>\n<p>If I have the chance, I&#8217;ll try to write a little during\/after the conference about what we&#8217;ve talked about.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This afternoon, Lord willing, we&#8217;ll be heading to the city of Puebla for a conference on biblical peacemaking.&nbsp;&nbsp; The material comes from Peacemaker Ministries.&nbsp; The conference is part of an initiative to train all our mission&#8217;s workers to learn more skills for dealing with conflict.
