{"id":859,"date":"2008-11-18T11:22:14","date_gmt":"2008-11-18T16:22:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cottrillcompass.com\/blog\/?p=859"},"modified":"2008-11-18T11:22:58","modified_gmt":"2008-11-18T16:22:58","slug":"more-about-our-weekend-in-cuernavaca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cottrillcompass.com\/blog\/2008\/more-about-our-weekend-in-cuernavaca.html","title":{"rendered":"More about our weekend in Cuernavaca"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oh, hey, I forgot to tell you something. &nbsp;We got to listen to a missionary speaker on Sunday. &nbsp;Of course we kind of wanted to hear Lorenzo (the pastor) speak too, but it was neat to hear from Javier.<\/p>\n<p>Javier and his family (his family wasn&#8217;t there) serve in a country in Eurasia. &nbsp;They are back in North America for a time before returning. &nbsp;He shared a bit about the country where they serve, and gave a message from the Bible.<\/p>\n<p>The interesting thing is that Javier is married to a Canadian. &nbsp;It just &quot;so happened&quot; that, on the Sunday he came to speak, there were 6 Canadians in the congregation (our family and <a href=\"http:\/\/lidstonenewseason.blogspot.com\/\">Gary and Kim Lidstone<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>We had a good talk with him afterwards (in English and Spanish), and had a lot to talk about. &nbsp;We have friends in the same mission he is in (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wec-canada.org\/\">WEC<\/a>). &nbsp;We talked about challenges of residency and immigration when you&#8217;re a couple from two different countries living in another country (as is the case with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.undertheafricanrain.com\/\">Shari&#8217;s sister and her husband<\/a>). &nbsp;And he had some wise words to share about language learning.<\/p>\n<p>We got their email address&#8230; it would be nice to stay in touch. &nbsp;And maybe we can let you know when they&#8217;re in Canada. &nbsp;His wife is from BC.<\/p>\n<p>By the way, I have a few photos up from the weekend (for some reason we didn&#8217;t take many &#8211; oops!) in our <a href=\"https:\/\/cottrillcompass.com\/gallery\/v\/recent\/\">Recent Shots&#8230;<\/a> album. &nbsp;Also some photos of some activities that Shari has been involved in lately. &nbsp;Enjoy!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Oh, hey, I forgot to tell you something. &nbsp;We got to listen to a missionary speaker on Sunday. &nbsp;Of course we kind of wanted to hear Lorenzo (the pastor) speak too, but it was neat to hear from Javier.
