If you know a lot of missionaries, chances are you have a lot of prayer cards.<\/strong> For the uninitiated, a prayer card is usually a small card, often the size of a post card or smaller, with a picture of a missionary or missionary family, and their names, organization and maybe an address or prayer requests.<\/p>\n

So where are your prayer cards? In a stack? On a bulletin board? Plastering your fridge? I just came across a great suggestion, especially if you have a family with children. [Edit: This link is no longer available. The idea uses a cloth world map, on which you pin cards. I believe you took them down one by one and prayed for them, or vice versa. The map is listed on Wycliffe’s resource page here<\/a>, and you can email them for more information.]<\/strong> It’s fun, inexpensive and yields eternal rewards! \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n

As a family, we pray by name for each person that gets our newsletter. We have thier pictures, prayer requests and names in an album that we pray through at meal times. As missionaries ourselves, this technique works well for us, and helps our kids to get to know our friends, especially the ones we rarely see.<\/p>\n
