A Visit to Venezuela
January 2001

[Venezuelan Scene]

Venezuela is a beautiful country with everything from snow (mountain tops) to tropical rainforest.  It has about 24 million people, a mixture of many races who generally speak Spanish.  I had the privilege of visiting the Friends & Followers Team that is ministering down there this winter (2000/2001).  They were there for a total of 4 months (December - March).

The team lived in a place called Catia La Mar.  If you have a good map you may find La Guaira, which is where Catia La Mar is.  It's about 45 minutes NW of Caracas, the capitol.  The State is called Vargas, the state that was devastated by the floods and mud slides in December 1999.  The state is functioning, but many homes were destroyed, and lives lost.  It will be a long time before the people recover from 'The Tragedy'.
