The BIG Weekend is Coming! (video)

I just wanted to stop by to thank those of you who prayed for our activities today. Thanks! 🙂
Believe it or not, we all made it to the service today. I led the service and the singing, which was fun for me (perhaps a little painful for everyone else…).
After the service, Shari was able to have her meeting with the Sunday School teachers, and then she went home and crashed.
We loaded up the instruments and sound system and took them back to the house (David’s house, home base…).
Then we had some time to meet with the people who want to be baptized.
I must say, it was the highlight of my day to sit with these people and here what Jesus has done for them. WOW. What else can I say – WOW. Really, you should have been there.
Yes, God is working in Jesús María! Thanks to so many of you who are a part of it!
Now, I’m beyond tired, as is everyone else, so we’re going to try to survive the evening and get the kids to bed.
But I just wanted to stop by and say thank you while I still had the energy to do so! 🙂
If you would be interested in praying for our activities tomorrow, we would appreciate it!
Here’s the deal. For the last 7 days we’ve gotten sick. Hannah, then Nathanael (a little, not much), then Jim, Hannah still, then Shari… nothing serious or lasting (I hope), and Hannah and Shari were at the doctor today, Nathanael’s fine, and Hannah’s almost better. And I’m … well, Shari and I are pretty sick still. (It’s not just us, by the way. A lot of people here have been struggling lately) But we’ll be better soon.
However, tomorrow is sooner than soon. 😉
Tomorrow I’m leading a special adoration service. We’re going to be doing something quite different – and learning lots of new songs – which means I’ll be talking or singing the majority of the time. It should be fun… but I hope my voice holds out!
After the service I’ll be helping to lead studies for those who are being baptized. These are very important times – please pray that José and I would have the words to say.
Shari (if she’s well enough to go!) will be leading a special time for the teachers and helpers of Sunday School, to help them in their upcoming lessons, and also to discuss some other children’s ministry stuff. This will probably be the last meeting she has with them before we leave for a while.
So – yes! Pray that people’s eyes will be on the Lord, that we will show His Spirit, and that we will survive the day. 🙂
And that we would be feeling better quick because next weekend…. —– well, we’ll talk about that later.
After 4 tries or so, we finally caught the mechanic and were able to take care of part one of the repairs we need as we prepare for our trip. If you can believe it, we got our heat/AC blower fixed, after who knows how many months. And just when we finally have a cool day. 🙂
However, we’ll need it since we’re going to be doing the "desert tour" in July, and it’s going to be hot.
So there you go – now we’ll have to get it to another mechanic… hopefully we’ll be able to find him a little quicker!

That’s it. Try not to pick something with thorns, or poison ivy or something like that. Trust me. It’s more fun than you might think. 😉

I was playing around with video while Nathanael was supposed to be reading. Yes, I can be a pretty distracting teacher! Anyway, here he is, not at his best.
And look at that… he’s getting a cold….
Oh well.
