Women’s Retreat Tomorrow (Saturday 30 Oct)
If you’re praying, you could pray for the women’s retreat tomorrow at Iglesia Bíblica de Tlalpan, Mexico City. The theme is Overcoming Adversity. Here’s the promotional poster to inspire you. 🙂

The other day I was looking for information about one of the available internships here in Mexico City. And I had so much trouble finding it, I decided this must be CAM’s best kept secret!

So, I’m going to whisper it to you. Please, don’t tell anyone. Unless, of course, they might be interested. 😉
Of course there are various internships and short term trips available if you’re interested in serving in Ixtapaluca. But tucked away in this brochure was the one I wanted to mention. Here’s what it says:
Graphic Arts/Animation (4, 6 weeks)
Work with local designers who are using graphic art and design in ministry. Logo design, Personality Creation, Graphic Arts illustration, Animation & Comics. Live, worship and minister with the Mexican Church.
That’s all it says – looks like a classified ad. If you don’t understand what half those words even mean, this internship probably isn’t for you. 🙂
Apparently the first intern is coming in December. Should be fun!
Oh, by the way, you can get your own copy of the Emerge brochure to get a summary of opportunities in Mexico and other countries by downloading it in pdf format here (2.35MB).

That’s the title of the new study I’m working on, which is going to be a lot of fun. I’ve been learning a lot as I’ve been preparing.
I just wanted to mention the book I recently finished reading – actually, in English and Spanish. My friend Antonio recommended the Spanish edition when we were talking about the study, so I got the Spanish version and later got the English version.
Anyway, it’s not a long book… but for it’s size it doesn’t do a bad job getting into the details of how the Bible comes to us through history. I’m not exactly taking the same approach as the book in the study, but the book will certainly be a good quick reference.
Anyway, the book is called (in English) How We Got the Bible by Neil R. Lightfoot. It’s also available for the Kindle. If you’re interested in the Spanish version, it’s called Comprendamos Como Se Formo la Biblia. It’s partly a translation of the English version by Lightfoot, but it’s actually totally revised to discuss how the Spanish Bible came to us. This revision comes from Dr. Juan Carlos Cevallos.
Check one out! 🙂
Someone in the family was asking about Christmas gifts (yay – we might get something for Christmas!), so I was recently checking out our wish lists. I decided to make a change I’ve been meaning to make for a long time.
So what I did is add a ministry wish list. So this is stuff that is directly related to our ministry here.

Obviously, some things on our personal lists do relate to ministry (maybe a cookbook that will help with the baking class, or a book about an aspect of ministry). But if it’s something to be used for ministry or it’s very directly related to some aspect of ministry, I’ll try to put it on the ministry wish list.
So there you go! Hannah and Nathanael’s wish list is still a joint wish list, though you can probably figure out which things are better for which. 🙂 Maybe that will be my next task… to split it up!
One more note – if you want to buy something, and you’re in doubt, ask us about where to ship it.
