Behind the scenes at CottrillCompass.com |
Jim and Shari were married on a beautiful sunny day in the spring of 1997. For the next few years, they lived in Calgary, Canada. They have a little girl who was born in May 2001, named Hannah Kadence Cottrill. From 1998 until 2002 they worked full time on the staff of Venture Teams International, training and discipling the next generation of missionaries through short term teams. In 2003 they began preparing for an exciting ministry with CAM International. In May, 2004, the Cottrills celebrated the birth of a son, Nathanael William! They continued to serve in Canada until moving to Cuernavaca, Mexico in 2006. They studied language and culture at a university there, while Hannah and Nathanael started school in Spanish. After their time in Cuernavaca, the Cottrills moved to Ixtapaluca, Mexico city (summer 2008). There they continued their study of language and culture, and became involved in ministry with a three year old church plant known as Iglesia Bíblical Sendero de Vida. There a multinational team was formed to start a new work in this less-reached area of Mexico. Through it all, the Cottrills thank God for His guidance and provision in their lives!* *If all this talk of Jesus and God has you confused, irritated, or curious, we'd like to explain in a little more detail what we believe.
