The case of the full freezer
It’s been quite a month so far! As it began, I was meditating on Phil 4:6-7, which reads:
Never worry about anything. But in every situation let God know what you need in prayers and requests while giving thanks. Then God’s peace, which goes beyond anything we can imagine, will guard your thoughts and emotions through Christ Jesus. (Phi 4:6-7, GW)
It’s so easy to work and work and worry and worry and forget the basics – like asking God. This month we were wondering where the groceries were going to come from. So, after asking God, He really answered with . . .
A very successful shopping trip
A surprise gift of a few groceries at our door
Another surprise gift of a big bag of groceries
By this time we were in an ironic situation because we had a freezer jam-packed full of food, but we weren’t sure how we were going to be able to buy the little things that come up, like needing more milk or bread. Just then someone phoned and wanted to give us a direct gift of some money to help us out! God still wasn’t quite finished, and more groceries came to our door a couple days ago.
To add to the blessings, while doing some maintenance on our car, the mechanic found that a couple of our brake pads needed to be replaced, and replaced them for free (what?! who does that?!).
Thanks again for your prayers! Thank God for all that He is doing.
