Patrick, Apatzingan and March
March has arrived, and it’s shaping up to be a busy month! There are a lot of events that we’re looking forward to this month, and there may yet be more that are in the planning stages. We’re trying to get some things on the calendar while we can, before the Easter events of April and the other events of May begin!
March is of course the month of St Patrick’s Day, and I’m looking forward to reading the ‘complete works’ of Patrick, in a new translation. Of course, Patrick didn’t write a lot . . . it’s just a small pocket book. But Patrick’s passion for prayer and the Word of God have always been an encouragement. Perhaps if I think of it I’ll share some of it with you this month as I read. (By the way, if you’d like to read along, the book is only a few dollars and can be purchased through this link. It’s only 112 pages long.)
Speaking of Patrick, it looks like we’ll be hosting a couple of seminars at our church (Calgary’s First Evangelical Free Church) later this month. On two Sunday evenings, the 21st and 28th, we’ll be exploring 2000 years of missions, and meeting some of the greatest missionaries, including Patrick of course. Watch for more information if you’re in the Calgary area. You’re welcome to attend.
I just discovered the website of a church that we worked in in Mexico. It’s the Primera Iglesia Biblica (First Bible Church) in Apatzingan, Mexico. The site is in Spanish, of course, but you can at least see some pictures. We have some pictures taken in Apatzingan in this photo album.
