Too much noise, too little noise…
You’ll be glad to hear that today Shari drove to the church in our car. No tow trucks required! The car was in the shop for several days, and we got it back yesterday morning. Over the past two weeks we’ve spent more on repairs than we spent on the car itself! These were unrelated problems, and if we’d known how much we were going to have to get done all at once … well, I’m not sure what we would have done.
We’re not out of the woods yet, either. First of all, there’s the mystery of the horn. It’s no working, and we’re not sure why. So we’ve gone from too many car noises, to losing one we really need! The horn relay works, we tried replacing the horn itself, but now we think it may have something to do with the wiring. So that’s one of the things we’ll be working on in our “spare” time in the next day or so. We know that there are other repairs that need to be done soon, but we’ll have to hold off and hope for the best. CAM has included in the outgoing funds we’re raising money for a new vehicle, but only a small percentage of that money has been raised. So we’re hoping the car will last (with no more repairs!) until the money is all in!
Meanwhile, we did get some good news, and that is that we’re going to be able to move to a slightly larger apartment on the same property (see our “more news” page). Lord willing this will give us some space to pack for Mexico, and maybe even find a place for the new baby to sleep! 😀 We’ll be moving in mid-May, so please pray that we’ll be able to get things done and find the money we need to cover expenses.
If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the winner of our Easter hymn poll! It’s good to remember that the same power that brought Jesus back to life is at work in our lives today. God really does have the power and love that we need every day! 🙂 Remember to celebrate that this Easter!
