Working together

Yesterday was one of those days where everything seems to intersect. It was an encouraging morning. Our pastor was speaking on 1Corinthians 3 – how each of us working together has a part in God’s work, and how God is the one who “makes things grow.” I sang a song in the service based on the passage. The chorus was in Spanish, which translated means
The one who plants and the one who waters are the same
and God makes things grow.

Before I sang I mentioned how encouraging it was to know that so many are working together, both here and in Mexico, to reach people within Mexico. The most encouraging thing is to know that God is the one working behind the scenes, organizing everything.

Yesterday was also the day we delivered a new newsletter to a lot of people at our church (if you’re on our Support Team you should be getting one in the next couple of weeks if you haven’t already). Our newsletter also spent some time talking about “coworkers” in Mexico.

The theme was especially appropriate because yesterday was the last day of our 2 month prayer focus, which many of you participated in. We praise the Lord for so many people who are praying for us. All these people are such an important part of the work! And of course we were praying for others who would be involved in our ministry.

So there you go, everything fit the theme! 🙂 It was just encouraging to remember that we really are not alone.

Well, I’m just here to update you quickly. Now we’re taking the rest of the day off (it’s a holiday here in Alberta – Family Day) and going to the zoo among other things. Calgary has a world class zoo, and we only live a few minutes away. Oh, don’t worry! We’ll be back hard at work tomorrow. Have a great week!
