What a great way to spend Resurrection Sunday! We went down to our daughter church in Jiutepec (about half and hour or so south - actually, we were at someone’s home in the area) for a baptismal service!
Excuse all the exclamation marks, but it was great. People gave testimonies, our friend Osvaldo spoke, we sang and then we saw these believers baptised. Praise the Lord! Here’s a glimpse of what it looked like…

Hey, these bodies are pretty weak sometimes, aren’t they? This was supposed to be a week to get caught up on work and rest after our trip. But for some silly reason, I can’t sleep! Well, not much anyway. Actually, it’s more like wild dream - awake - wild dream - awake - wild dream - awake.
So I’m not sure what’s up with that. Shari actually can’t sleep all that well either. So we’re just kinda getting more and more tired.
Sooooo…. I don’t know what else to say about that. It’s just that we’re getting tired enough that it’s become significant enough to write about! If you like, you could pray that we could get some sleep. And, more importantly, that we could cope while we’re awake - not get too irritable or anything like that. The spirit is willing, but…

For those of you who like to pray for health related issues, here are a few quick things to pray for…
- My Mom is heading to the hospital today to have some "minor" work done this afternoon. Please pray for her recovery over the next couple of days especially, and for my Dad who is also dealing with health issues.
- Nathanael has shown some improvement, but will be going in for blood work tomorrow and then another doctor’s appointment probably on Thursday. Please pray for continued wisdom and direction in his treatment. Nathanael and I also have nasty colds.
- I will be going to the doctor this week so he can tell me how I’m feeling.
- Shari has been struggling with a bad headache, and it needs to go away.
- I will be Lord willing seeing an optometrist later this month regarding some trouble I’ve been having with my eyes. Please pray that I’ll find the right doctor and get some help.
Thanks for your prayers! God is teaching us and reminding us to rely on Him. He’s great!

I’ve got to stop posting about prayers requests - people actually pray and then want to know how everything went!
Seriously - we appreciate your prayers. Thanks! The Sunday School class went very well. Now, we have to admit there were only 3 students - two were our kids. There was another helper from the church, and a few other people hanging around (because we basically share space with the nursery). So how many students do you need to have before it’s worthwhile?
Well, it was worthwhile, of course. The kids were into it and learned. We were blessed, and had a good chance to use our Spanish and continue developing ministry materials. And it’s a lot less nerve-racking to teach 3 students and not 50. However, I had to pop a balloon as part of the class, and that was a little traumatic. I’ll get over it.
We’re heading out to spend a few days in Texcoco, to check out the ministry there and visit with our friends Rollie and Jo Ann Smith. We’re looking forward to it, but we’re not in the "travel groove" yet, so it will be … interesting, I’m sure!
In case you’re wondering, here are the general locations of the three places we’ve visited this year. Ixtapaluca and Texcoco are the areas we’re considering moving to (probably late spring/early summer):
