Baptisms – July 2025 (video)
This past Sunday we enjoyed a special baptism service, joining our sister church in the community of Jesús María. We praise the Lord for the testimonies of each of these believers!

Yes, there are some exciting things coming up! If you would be willing to join us in prayer, we would appreciate it!

First, coming up on Sunday – a baptismal service! We will be joining the Path of Life Bible Church Jesús María for a worship service – and for the convenience of a place with a baptismal tank. 🙂
Please pray for those who will be following the Lord in baptism, and for their families, some of whom may not yet know the Saviour.
Then on the following Saturday, we will be joining another church – Mount Horeb Bible Church, in the nearby municipality of Iztapalapa. Next week they’re having a VBS, and they will be inviting the family and friends of the kids to a closing program on the last day.
And that’s where we come in! A friend from our church wrote a little play based on the VBS themes, and we’ll be performing that. Another friend will give a evangelistic presentation. We’ll be playing some music. And then we’ll help with the food, and Lord willing have time to talk to people one-on-one. Please pray that we would be clear and wise as we share!
It’s been great to see so many of the people of the church jumping in to get involved in these events! Praise the Lord!
Looking ahead, I’m preparing for some important teaching times in early August. So there’s lots coming up!
Thanks for your prayers!
* Oh, in case you’re wondering – the picture is the title page of our play. It says “Iztapalapa Event” (obviously – you probably figured that out already), “Stage Play”, and then “2nd Proposal”, because she actually had two versions. The play has the main character hearing testimonies from the Bible characters that the kids learned about during the week.
Check it out! On Sunday we celebrated the 8th anniversary of the Path of Life Bible Church Las Palmas. And – two people were baptized! So, as is the tradition around here, I’m sharing a video of the baptisms…
Yesterday we celebrated the baptisms of 9 people – five from the Path of Life Bible Church Jesús María, and four from the Path of Life Bible Church Las Palmas. You’ll see them in that order in the video below. Praise the Lord! And thanks to all of you who were praying for this service.
10 years ago today, Hannah was baptized, along with 25 other people from the two Path of Life churches in Ixtapaluca! There’s a video of the whole event here, but here’s Hannah giving her testimony:

A drive of an hour and a half can mean a significant change of altitude around here, and so a significant change of climate. It seems funny to see everyone bundled up, ready to leave Ixtapaluca (I could see my breath), only to end up swimming at a waterpark…

So we drove to the state of Morelos, and gradually started to thaw out. We met together in an amphitheatre in the forest and sang some Christmas carols…

David led the service, and Rod shared some biblical truths about baptism…

And then the three baptismal candidates gave their testimonies.

What an encouragement to hear how God has been working in their lives!
Finally, we went down to the river. Here’s a video of the baptisms – for reasons which will be clear, it’s hard to hear what’s being said. But you’ll get the idea!
After that, we enjoyed some delicious food and some wonderful fellowship and some walking and swimming (and sleeping!) as people desired, before heading back as night began to fall.
Thanks to everyone who was praying! Your prayers are not taken for granted. There were some challenging issues in the congregations – such as a fall, sickness, an accident – which could have caused problems. But God was good. Please continue to pray for those three teens who were baptized, and their families.
