A Quince!
That is, a quinceañera! We had a fun day on Sunday, combining our normal worship service with a 15th birthday party for one of our youth girls.
You may remember Hannah’s XV, which was three and a half years ago now. Most of you know by now that many girls in Mexico have a big coming-of-age party at the age of 15. Well, this time, the whole church pitched in to make the party special for Areli.
We started with our normal Sunday school class (continuing our study on the 10 Commandments), and then we sang some of Areli’s favourite worship songs. Special symbols were presented to her by various people in the church, and Rod shared a devotional. Some people shared, including her parents. And then, of course, we ate! Only running out of tortillas once. 🙂
This is one of those times that meeting at a party venue every Sunday comes in handy!
Here are a few more pictures, so you can see what it was like.
