Retro: School Photos (New Year, New City)
Ten years ago today. A new school year was about to begin, and we were in a new city – Ixtapaluca. So, it was time for some paperwork, including new photos of Hannah and Nathanael!

Really? Ten years already?
That’s right! Ten years ago tomorrow, Nate and Amy got married! (For the uninitiated, Amy is Shari’s sister). Congratulations!
So this would be their “tin” anniversary. Tin protects and preserves other metals, so I believe it represents the continued preservation of a precious marriage.
Anyway, here they are the day before the wedding – ten years ago today!
Just before we moved out of our house in Cuernavaca, I took a panoramic shot of from the roof. The service I used is no longer available, so I found a new one so you can see it. It’s probably best if you go “full screen” on this one. You can also “hide controls” so you don’t have all the tech-clutter in your way.
Is there a rule that you can only post one picture in a retro post? I guess not, since I’m the one making the rules!
However, I can’t post this on the day it happened, because it was two days. Ah well. This is about half-way between. 🙂
So, it’s birthday month! Ten years ago this month we had an “art party” for Hannah, which was a lot of fun. Here’s Hannah with her cake and cupcakes.
Shari was the cake-maker, of course, but I think Hannah drew the rainbow that you see in the cupcakes. 🙂
And Nathanael had a “Hotwheels party” that year! I thought the piñata turned out pretty well…
And to finish off, here’s Nathanael actually ready to take a whack at the piñata on party day. Now you can see the bottom of the piñata – Hotwheels, of course…
It was a proud moment when, ten years ago today, Hannah had the honour of being the flag bearer at her school, Colegio del Bosque in Cuernavaca. Here she is, getting ready to lead the procession!
10 years ago today! We were hanging out at the Casteel’s “castle” in Cuernavaca, and here are some of the people we were hanging out with – Gary and Kim Lidstone! The Lidstones were in Cuernavaca from Canada, working on their Spanish for a little while. If I remember correctly, this was just before they returned to Canada.
This little picture of Gary (above right) is a bonus, from the same day. Whatcha doin’, Gary?
