An EGGciting Event! (shell I tell you about it?)
As you might know, the day started off rather cold and gloomy. And frankly, it didn’t get any better.
But enough about the weather! Preparations for the community centre’s Easter egg event continued. As we prayed a few minutes before we were supposed to begin, some of us were wondering if God had other plans. Would anyone come in this cold and rain?
Well, they certainly did. I’m not yolking. We’re guessing around 150 people showed up to decorate eggs, decorate cookies, and go on an Easter egg hunt (1200 plastic eggs. Yes, 1200. When the time came for the hunt the kids just scrambled!)! Oh, and let’s not forget – they got to hear the Gospel!
Still, as you can see from the pictures, people were dressed pretty warm!
It’s still a pretty gloomy, rainy day (especially for “dry season”!), but the event went very well. Our friend Jos did a Gospel presentation, and things got cleaned up before it rained too hard.
For some reason I didn’t get any video of the Easter egg hunt, but you can see last year’s here (quite a difference in the weather!).
But anyway, here are a few clips from the rest of the activities…
