If You Want To Pray Today…
Hi everyone,
If you’re looking for something to pray for, I would especially appreciate your prayers over the next couple of days.
First of all this is a really busy time. I just came back from my keyboard class, but before that we spent the day in Texcoco at a (CAM) team meeting. Later tonight I’m meeting with José to discuss some of our disciple-making strategies for our local community of believers in Jesús María.
All of this is great, exciting stuff, of course!
Tomorrow is a big day because it’s the last study in our series entitled Where did the Bible come from? It’s going to be a lot of fun, I hope! But more than that – we really want to draw together all the strands of things we’ve been learning. How is this information useful for me and my family? What do we mean when we say the Bible is God’s Word? How can I use this information to better understand what the Bible teaches?
I have a lot of work to do between now and tomorrow night! Thankfully my beautiful wife has agreed to take my shift teaching Nathanael tomorrow. 🙂
Complicating matters is my health, which at the moment is… annoying. I won’t go into details, but it is currently making life extremely … inconvenient. And when I get a chance, I’ll need to go for some tests.
Also, for some reason I’ve gotten very little sleep the last three (yes, three) nights. I rarely have trouble sleeping, so this is unusual. I think I figured out the problem, and last night showed signs of improvement, so we’ll see.
There are all kinds of other things we’re working on right now – many of them long term vision relating things that we feel are important.
Also this week (Lord willing) we want to get Shari to the doctor, and Nathanael to two different doctors for two different issues. I think I mentioned to some of you that this is the medical season right now for us! Some of this we’ve been planning for many months – one of Nathanael’s issues – so it’s not all a surprise. But it does mean that in a little over a week we’ll be in various cities for various reasons – yes, a busy week.
So, if you’re praying, I’d appreciate prayer for:
- Wisdom as we work through long term vision, discipleship and policy issues
- Tomorrow (Tuesday) night’s Bible study
- Safety as we travel
- Health and strength
- Special wisdom as we make medical related decisions
Thanks for your prayers! This is an exciting time, but a very challenging time. We always need the Lord – but sometimes we realize it more than others! 😉
