What’s been happening?
It seems like I haven’t been updating you all very much on what’s been going on, so let me just give you some general news.
These have been days of great – variety, shall we say. We like variety, but sometimes it does seem like you’re getting pulled in multiple directions.
Activities at the community centre are still in full swing. Shari continues to be involved in the baking classes, and we helped out last week with a kids’ craft class, which was fun.
I’m continuing my series on Spiritual Discernment (and I’ve been sharing some thoughts here on the blog, as you’ve seen). We had a really great discussion on Tuesday, focusing on how to respond to sin and error that we see (or think we see!) in someone else. (Responding to it in our own lives is maybe simpler – and much harder!) Next week we’ll be talking about specific issues that are familiar with people in our context here in Mexico.
We’re trying to get Hannah and Nathanael through their school in time for our spring/summer trip, a task that often seems impossible. 😮
Speaking of our trip, I have a whole long list of things to get done every week from now until then – the countdown is on.
Communication is a big thing right now – planning for the future, working through various issues. Talks, phone calls, letters, emails.
We’re welcoming Jessica here this week!
Health struggles have slowed us down considerably the last few weeks. Not much out of the ordinary, but enough to take away a day here and there and here and there again.
But there are encouraging things going on. As I write, I think of more and more that’s going on that I could write about. But you have other things to do! So let’s just say there are encouraging things happening. People with a hunger for God’s Word. God working in people’s lives. Grace and love. Thank God for His Spirit, who is at work even in our corner of Mexico City.
