When the Lord Keeps Us Safe…
…we usually don’t know anything about it.
So I’d like to write about how the Lord kept me safe on the way home from … a meeting on security. Go figure.
I went to another part of the city today for a routine meeting on our mission’s security policies. By the way, Jim and Steve did a great job leading the meeting, and it was great to see a bunch of our missionary friends.
So I was driving back on the highway, and a tire BLEW. That’s basically the story.
Not too exciting, I know, but it did really blow (can you see the hole?) at a high speed and so let’s just say I didn’t stay entirely in my lane. But thankfully there were no other cars anywhere near me, and I pulled over without too much trouble and changed the tire.
Now very rarely am I driving alone on the highway like that, and there’s always a chance that you can be in more danger when you’re pulled over in a relatively isolated area. But it was still daylight (barely) and there were no problems.
So we need to reflect once in a while – how many times does God keep us safe when we don’t even know about it? How many times has He used YOUR prayers to keep us safe from dangers that are common (accidents, for example) to spiritual (demonic activity around us, for example)?
So thank you if you have every sent a prayer to the throne of God for our safety. And thank God for His protection. As I was reminded once again at our meeting today – we all face dangers. But God has been incredibly gracious.

Praise God for His protection! Stories like this remind me of the accident in Russia. Although we would hope things like this don’t happen, it is awesome to see God’s hand in it!
