More on RSS
After my long post about photos and RSS and news readers, I came across a short video explaining the benefits of RSS "in plain English", thanks to Jackie and Fran Bell. Admittedly, the video does move pretty fast, but the part with the arrows is a very simple clear explanation if you’re wondering why in the world you should care about the whole RSS thing.

Hey Jim,
Do you know what’s up with Blogspot and feeding? I’m interested in two blogs on there, but don’t see anyway of getting a feed from there. Is that accurate?

Yeah, some people like to be real sneaky about their feeds. Unintentionally, but they hide them pretty well.
First, people actually need to turn the feed on. So some of the blogs actually do not have feeds.
The feeds that do exist are usually hidden in the webpage itself, so that programs can find the feeds. If you enter the URL of the blog into a feed reader, sometimes it will recognize the feed.
You’ll also notice that the feeds generally have a common format. If you can figure out the feed for a few, you can probably guess at the others. Also, with Blogger (blogspot) there are feeds in more than one format, such as atom or rss.
Hope that helps!

Hmmm. Would you have any suggestions for linking to that Japanease ‘Grace Notes’ feed?
