This morning Shari and I went to a local public Junior High to help judge an English Christmas Carol Competition (well, Christmas song competition anyway). Just call us Sass and Jake… or not.
We were joined by Rod Fry and three people from the school. I believe there were 10 songs, and about 500 students involved.
The winning team celebrates! |
They all did a good job, singing songs like We Wish You A Merry Christmas, Rocking Around the Christmas Tree, and The Little Drummer Boy, with costume (in addition to their regular uniforms) and choreography.
Each grade had a winning group, and the overall winner was from the youngest grade (We Wish You A Merry Christmas).
Shari and I were among those who handed out the winning certificates, and we even got a certificate for our participation. 🙂
It’s neat to have a connection to this local school. We may be able to have some visitors (English speaking ones) help out with the English at the school sometime, although the teachers seem to be doing a great job too.
