ACTION in Jesús MarÃa!
Yes, ACTION! As the date rolls closer when we need to pay for the land in Jesús MarÃa, the church has MOBILIZED and is working hard to get the needed funds!
Of course there is some money saved from free will offerings. But for many weeks people have been selling food to earn money for the land and building.
But when the contract was finally signed, everything went into high gear! A garage sale began, selling used items to the community (which helps them and helps us!). The sale has continued off and on for the last couple of weeks.
Then some people from the church started the buy-in-bulk and sell-retail system, buying some tidbits downtown and adding them to the sale.
And, yes, there’s more going on! Today the youth of the church were all wet – washing cars and vans (including our van, which very much needed the cleaning!).
They also made up some desserts (such as the ever-popular flan and rice pudding) to sell next to the pizza cart owned by a family of believers in Jesús MarÃa (see the sales in action here).
There have also been other food sales at the house the church rents in the community. This from Rod’s blog:
Last night the little house that we rent was converted into a restaurant. I have no idea how many quesadillas, bombazos and banderillas were sold last night…what I do know is that there were so many people there, we had to wait probably 20 minutes for our order to be ready!
It’s pretty exciting to see the community of believers coming together to serve the community and raise funds at the same time!
Thanks too to so many in the United States and Canada who have joined the believers here in this project! See how things are going so far on this page.
Praise the Lord!

It may have been COOL for you Shari, but it’s been bitter COLD here! 😉 That being said, this is a very encouraging post!
